The Children

Our Story

The foundation was founded and registered under the section 10 of the Societies Act No.R.49701 in July 2017 by Elizabeth Adhiambo Van Den Berg in memory of her mother, Mama Felistus Agutu Asoyo.

Today, we carry that torch in Kitmikayi, Kisumu County, Kenya. The foundation is the brain child of the late Mama Felistus,who was an orphan herself. From an early age Mama Felistus was an orphan and she had to go through problems of being denied food by relatives.She vowed not to let any orphan go hungry during her lifetime.Although she had no income,the little she had she shared with the orphans.
In honor of her memory the foundation was started in July

Today the foundation has greatly improved the lives of the children living with HIV/AIDS as it looks forward to helping more children in need.The 9 kids are able to have good nutrition,education and clean accommodation.The children are happy,healthy and lead descent lives with dignity.They atleast feel they belong to a family which cares

A Legacy of Compassion

Since 25th of July 2017, Elizabeth Adhiambo Van Den Berg, in memory of her mother, has made it her life's mission to provide healing and peace to forgotten orphans living with HIV/AIDS.

By building a children's home inspired by her late iconic mother Mama Felistus Agutu—who herself was an orphan—she has worked tirelessly to serve others. Today, the foundation houses 9 children in a facility with permanent rooms, a garden, and dedicated caretakers.

“To provide holistic care, education, and emotional support for forgotten orphans living with HIV/AIDS — empowering them to build resilience and achieve their full potential.”

Governance: All office bearers are elected every three years at the Annual General Meeting.

Transparency: All funds are deposited in the Foundation account, and withdrawals must be authorized by the committee.

Urgent Resource Needs

The only available source of money for the resources needed was the Chairperson's salary which was barely adequate and now that she has retired, resources are scarce
